⭕In line with the Faculty of Specific Education at Zagazig University's commitment to ensuring the quality of the educational process and the smooth conduct of examinations, and under the auspices of Professor Dr. Khaled El-Darandaly, President of the University, and Professor Dr. Helal Afifi, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, the Board of Directors of the Distinguished Programs held its tenth meeting on Monday, August 3, 2026. The meeting was chaired by Professor Dr. Akmal Shawky Gaballah, Dean of the Faculty and Chairman of the Board, and attended by the Faculty's Vice Deans, Board members including the Heads of Academic Departments, Coordinators of the new programs, experienced faculty members, the Faculty Secretary, and the Director of Student Affairs.
⭕Professor Dr. Akmal Shawky opened the meeting by welcoming the Board members, emphasizing the importance of continuing to work as a unified team and strengthening the Distinguished Programs system to achieve the highest levels of quality and discipline. The Board then reviewed the agenda, approving the minutes of the previous meeting and following up on the implementation of its decisions.
The council discussed several topics related to the final preparations for the summer semester exams for the 2025/2026 academic year for the new credit-hour programs. These included approving the dates and schedules for practical and theoretical exams, confirming the composition of the examiners and graders, and discussing the nature of the theoretical exams, specifically whether to use essay or multiple-choice (MCQ) questions. This ensures the achievement of the targeted learning outcomes and the accurate measurement of academic attainment.
The council also discussed mechanisms for daily monitoring of the exams. Program coordinators were instructed to prepare daily reports on the practical exams according to the approved templates. Furthermore, the head of the new programs' examination committee was tasked with preparing detailed reports including the pass rates for each course and level. These reports will be submitted to the relevant councils for approval before the results are announced, thus reinforcing the principles of transparency and accuracy in the assessment process. The council also discussed transfer requests to and from the new fee-based programs, in addition to reviewing a proposal to form a board of directors for distinguished programs for the 2026/2027 academic year. This is part of early preparations for the new academic year and aims to ensure the continued development of the distinguished academic programs system.
Professor Dr. Akmal Shawky, Dean of the College and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Distinguished Programs, emphasized that the college places great importance on developing distinguished academic programs as a key pillar for enhancing the quality of university education. He noted that the council's decisions aim to provide a comprehensive educational and organizational environment that guarantees the smooth conduct of examinations and achieves the highest standards of accuracy, fairness, and transparency at all stages of the examination process. This reflects the college's vision of offering competitive educational programs that meet the demands of the labor market and fulfill the needs of sustainable development.
The council concluded its work by emphasizing the importance of integration among all relevant parties within the college and continued coordination between its various departments to ensure the efficient implementation of issued decisions. This will contribute to enhancing the system of distinguished programs and strengthen the position of the Faculty of Specific Education at Zagazig University as a leading model in providing modern university education that combines academic quality and institutional excellence, aligning with the goals of Egypt's Vision 2030 for the development of higher education.
