The Faculty of Specific Education at Zagazig University showcases its environmental and innovative projects during a visit by the "Best Environmentally Friendly Faculty" committee.
⭕As part of Zagazig University's commitment to promoting sustainable environmental practices, fostering a culture of innovation, and optimizing resource use, and under the patronage of Professor Dr. Khaled El-Darandaly, President of Zagazig University, and Professor Dr. Hanan El-Nahhas, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, the Faculty of Specific Education at Zagazig University hosted a visit on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, from the "Best Environmentally Friendly Faculty" competition evaluation committee. The faculty presented a comprehensive model reflecting its efforts in the areas of sustainability, recycling, innovation, and utilizing available resources to serve the environment and society.
⭕The visit included the "Arts of Creativity and Environmental Sustainability" exhibition, a diverse showcase of innovative projects and initiatives, as well as a specialized recycling exhibition featuring a collection of works and crafts from the Departments of Art Education and Home Economics. This demonstrated the faculty's ability to transform waste and available materials into aesthetically and functionally valuable products and works, reinforcing the concepts of the circular economy and the sustainable use of resources.
The Innovative Projects Exhibition featured a number of outstanding models and initiatives implemented by the College's Center for Project Management, Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and International Ranking. These included the "Can Art Egypt" project by Professor Dr. Amani Fawzy, the "Smart Interactive Book" project by Professor Dr. Naglaa Saeed, and the "Unfading Identity" project by Professor Dr. Hala Alwan.
The exhibition also included the "Production of Wood Products from Residual Processed and Natural Wood Waste" project by Professor Dr. Amal Khairy, which exemplifies a practical application of repurposing waste and transforming it into innovative products. Additionally, the "Smart Graduate Portal Application" project by Professor Sama El-Shamy was showcased, reflecting the integration of environmental considerations, digital transformation, and innovation within the College's operational framework.
The recycling exhibition was a highlight of the visit, showcasing a diverse range of artistic and applied works produced by the college's departments. These works presented practical models for creatively reusing and utilizing materials and waste, contributing to raising environmental awareness and transforming the concept of sustainability from a theoretical framework into a practical reality within the university environment.
Professor Dr. Akmal Shawky Gaballah, Dean of the Faculty of Specific Education, emphasized that the college's participation in the "Best Environmentally Friendly College" competition stems from its belief that environmental protection is no longer an individual responsibility or a limited activity, but rather an integral part of the university education system and the mission of the academic and community institution.
The Dean noted that the college administration ensured the visit's activities reflected the ongoing efforts in recycling, resource conservation, and innovation, encouraging faculty members and students to develop solutions and projects with environmental and social impact. For her part, Professor Dr. Rehab Gomaa, coordinator of the Best Environmentally Friendly College competition, contributed to coordinating and monitoring the college's preparations for the visit, compiling and showcasing environmental and innovative practices and projects. This highlighted the college's efforts in achieving the competition's objectives and demonstrated its initiatives and experiences in the field of sustainability.
