In line with its commitment to developing a high-quality education system and providing specialized academic pathways that combine scientific qualifications, practical skills, and artistic creativity, and under the patronage of Professor Khaled El-Darandaly, President of Zagazig University, and Professor Ehab El-Beblawy, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, the Faculty of Specific Education continues to offer high-quality academic programs. These programs aim to prepare graduates and researchers who possess the knowledge, skills, and ability to innovate, thus enhancing the faculty's role in serving the community and developing artistic and creative culture.
The programs of the Department of Art Education stand out as one of the distinguished pathways that combine academic study with practical training. This allows students to develop their abilities in various artistic fields and become familiar with techniques, materials, and design and production methods, while also offering graduate studies in different specializations.
The Department of Art Education offers a diverse range of specializations, including drawing and painting, design, crafts, woodworking, metalwork, ceramics, weaving and handcrafts, and textile printing. This provides students with the opportunity to discover their potential and develop their artistic skills in the field that best suits their interests and abilities. ⭕These tracks also aim to integrate theory and practice through training in modern techniques, design and innovation, and working with various materials. They also focus on developing the ability to produce innovative artistic and functional works that meet community needs and keep pace with contemporary developments.
⭕The Metalworking program offers a model of specialization that combines manual skill with design and innovation. It aims to prepare researchers and creators capable of employing metalworking techniques and transforming metal materials into innovative artistic and functional works.
⭕The program includes fields related to metal forming and processing techniques, design and innovation in metalworking, digital technologies and advanced manufacturing, metal arts, machining, and decoration, as well as an understanding of raw materials and methods for finishing and protecting them.
⭕It also opens doors to applying the acquired skills in designing and executing artistic works and metal products, working in factories and workshops, training and teaching, designing and executing metal products and projects, marketing, and participating in exhibitions. The Woodworking specialization offers another model for integrating tradition and technology. It covers various wood types, cutting, assembly, and finishing tools and techniques, and the application of digital design software and modern manufacturing technologies, along with the execution of small-scale woodworking projects.
The program also focuses on artistic design and wood decoration, carving and 3D printing, and wood maintenance, finishing, and protection. It develops planning, management, and marketing skills, enabling students to transform ideas into viable products.
This specialization opens diverse career paths for its graduates, including designing and executing artwork, working in companies and factories, producing and marketing wooden products, managing small businesses, and specializing in carving, decoration, and woodworking.
The educational system doesn't end with the bachelor's degree. The college offers postgraduate programs, including specialized diplomas, master's degrees, and doctorates in several artistic disciplines. This supports the continuation of academic studies, prepares specialized researchers, and enhances scientific research in the fields of education, arts, and design. Professor Akmal Shawky Gaballah, Dean of the Faculty of Specific Education at Zagazig University, affirmed that the faculty continues to develop its academic programs and pathways to achieve integration between scientific knowledge and applied skills. This provides students and researchers with a learning environment that helps them discover and develop their abilities and transform creative ideas into valuable products and projects.
He pointed out that the nature of specialized studies offers students ample opportunities for specialization, training, and practice. He emphasized that the true investment in education lies in preparing graduates capable of continuous learning, innovation, competition, and utilizing their specialization to build their future and serve their community.
For her part, Professor Safinaz Samir, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research, affirmed that the graduate studies system represents one of the important pillars of the faculty's mission, as it provides researchers with opportunities to pursue specialized studies and deepen their scientific and applied knowledge in the fields of arts, design, and art education. She explained that the diversity of specializations and research paths contributes to preparing scientific and research personnel capable of addressing contemporary issues and challenges, producing knowledge, and utilizing it to develop artistic and educational practices and serve the community.
The Faculty of Specific Education at Zagazig University affirms through these programs that the study of arts is no longer limited to acquiring artistic skills alone, but has become an integrated system combining academic education, professional training, design, technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
Between raw materials and ideas, and between skill and knowledge, the faculty provides its students and researchers with an opportunity to create a unique educational experience that translates creativity into value, knowledge into skill, and talent into a future.
At the Faculty of Specific Education at Zagazig University, where art meets science, and creativity meets knowledge, education becomes a true starting point for building a more creative and distinguished future.
